Should I adopt this new chicken?!

I have a mixed flock. My silkies are defiantly at the bottom of the pecking order, but they get along fine.

I would beg this person to avoid new chickens like this. I wont even buy chickens from breeders anymore. That's why I got 2 silkies. I will buy new eggs, and let mother nature incubate them, or just hatch from my own flock.
Yes, why I have my Rooster, Lester the molester ...lol...my Flock is totally closed...

So if I wanted to add to my flock and I since I don’t have a rooster or silkies what would be my options for expanding my flock? Is ordering day old chicks from a hatchery good? Don’t buy at county fairs. Learned the hard way everyone selling chickens isn’t always honest. I was sold a Phoenix hen, told she was healthy, later discovered a severe mite infestation.
