Hi, I have two call ducklings. One is doing extremely well, and the other one is worrying me a little bit.

My little duckling have an underbite, that may be the reason as to why she’s been breathing hard, and having a runny nose. She still drinks water and eat as usual. I’ve been using warm water to have her clear up her clogged nostrils. She does it herself, but I help her as well just to make sure it’s all clear. She’s also been sneezing as well. I made sure there’s no draft and that her and her sibling is well heated. Other than that she’s pretty extremely active still, as if she’s not even affected by it. My question is can this all be due to her underbite? If so is there other things I can do to help keep her nose clear?

Welcome to BYC. Cute duckling, congrats! The Bill deformaty might be the reason she's breathing hard, has a runny nose, and is sneezing. Do you have a food scale that you can weigh her on? I would weigh both of them and monitor their weight. If she's not gaining as much as the other duckling, you could consider trying antibiotics.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow Gorgeous duckling!

It looks a little young to already have a "cold" per se. I think you're right and it's due to the underbite. As she learns to eat/drink better with it, she will have an easier time. She'll grow up not realizing there's anything wrong with her.

I'm guessing they are a week old and should be at around 85F to 90F. Make sure they're on crumbles for ducklings, and I'd put some vitamins in their water for a day. We use NutriDrench or Poultry Cell. You can wet the crumbles and make it a mushy mash they should like and she might be able to eat it better.
