We have someone up the road whose relationship has broken (about 3 weeks ago). She has moved and needs to get rid of the coop and chickens (and a pig which we cannot take). The coop 5.5 x 4 x 4 (small), run/fencing about 10 x 20 ish, feed containers, waterers, wood And what are supposed to be Black Orpingtons: 1 roo just 2 yrs, 4 hens ( 1yr & 2 yr) 1 white mixed hen 1 yr, two 6 wk BO chicks. We are down to $200. We would expand the coop (in 2 weeks) and secure it right away.

For some reason the option to add pics is not available, so I'll reply to myself and post images...hopefully.

Also, should the roo have the white on his tail? I thought BO were more fluffy/feathered. IMG_20240830_155340908~2[1].jpg IMG_20240830_155350540~2[1].jpg IMG_20240830_155303276_HDR[1].jpg Thanks to all.

They are all black but look somewhat brownish in the sun. The white one is from the roo and an ISA hen. There were 2 light brown eggs in the box early afternoon.

I would take that. But I don't know about others
I'm thinking I can/will secure the coop the day we get it. They are used to staying outside in the run/or on top of the coop (probably due to size). I will get the 6 adults into the coop at dusk and there are two chicks that will go into a kennel at night. All in a run during the day, as they stay somewhat quarantined from the other 2 flocks, about 100 yds away. I was thinking $100 for the coop, 50 for the 6 adults and 2 chicks, 30 for the waterers/feeders and 20 for the wire/wood. We can make it work. Once we integrate them to another flock in a large coop, we will use this coop for a brooder/quarantine coop.
