Hi all! I am sort of new to goats since we got our first doe back in April 2019. Got our brother and sister pair in November. We waited a bit too long to castrate the billy and now are anxiously awaiting baby or babies from original doe- Chewy I’ve been trying to read up and learn as much as possible about labor and delivery but it’s some what hard to find good details. Any one have experience with this? Here’s a few pics of the gang. Chewy is black doe. McGruff is white spotted billy. And last is Buttercup the little black and brown girl. Oh also should it be safe to keep Chewy in with the other two during labor and such?

Thought I'd pop my head in as we are diving into the hobby farm side of things. We've recently started with chickens and ducklings, and today picked up 2 goats... unexpected as we'd only planned one.

We arranged to get a pregnant doe, but our arms were twisted to bring home a companion for her as she isn't due to kid for a few months.

Meet our two new babies whom we've dubbed~

^ Daphne - 9 month old Doe - bred by a pure nubian - due in 4 months

^ Staples - 3 month old Doeling - Toggenburg x Nubian

We have to get them used to us as they have free ranged most their lives so they are tethered where we frequent, and tomorrow are getting fencing etc to build them a pen and shelter.
