Scaredy is still alive.
I was not happy when I found him laying next to the feeder with his neck snapped. It happened two months ago.

I have found a few chickens dead next to our feeder, but I dont know why they die there... My best regards to you!

I wish I knew, we lost a young one this year, and she was right at the feeder... looks like you and I need to study, and observe.

That would make sense considering he died next to the food but chickens are pigs and I’ve always thought mine would choke but they just scream and shake and then boom they’re back to gobbling.

I examined my boy before taking him to the woods, his neck was kinked, & floppy like it got snapped.

He looks a lot better now, he got in a brawl with a buff Brahma rooster...and the run was especially muddy.
