I get shredded paper for basicly nothing. I have an industreal shredder (will do whole news paper at once) that I got VERY cheep from a store going out of busness. And al my neighbors and family, and even some church members save papers, junk mail, etc. for me. So my question is, can I use it in the hens nesting boxes in place of straw? (currantly $5.75 a bale for anything nice and dry). My husband used to do a lot of shipping, still does, just not quite as much. That is why we got the shredder in the first place. But we get more paper than even we know what to with. Bond fire once a year is fun, but not usefull. Tried it in the cats litter box... that, was a bad idea, never again...
