One of my chicks has been doing poorly since last night. I have her in a separate container to rest and am giving her electrolyte water through a dropper but she hasn't eaten food today. She just pooped a huge long pink thing. I've read about intestinal shedding but it scared me with how sick shes been for the last 24 hours. She's almost a week old.

Thank you! I haven't had chicks before but this doesn't seem good. I gave them their first yard time day before yesterday maybe she picked it up then.

That’s a lot of shed for a chick and based off of her behavior I would treat everyone for coccidiosis.
These poops followed the scary one. Some pink but no blood. I got corid but I'm afraid to put her body through that if it's not the issue. Do you think it's safer to start treatment or could the medicine hurt her if that's not the issue? No one else's stool is weird. She was getting picked on a little I wonder if she got squished or ate something that hurt her when they were in the yard

If she is acting poorly and not eating combined with all of that shed I would start treatment immediately.

I would, too.
