I have a chicken that has been sick for about 3 days now. I found her almost walking like a penguin and wold not be able to stand up on her own. I instantly thought she was egg bound so I had been putting her in epson salt baths and massaging her belly but no egg gas come out. I am also giving her calcium citric powder but its no good. I don’t think she is egg bound because she is pooping, but her poop is green and sometimes watery. She is also eating good and she doesn’t drink any water so I have been giving her water thru a tube. I don’t know what to do know do y’all hace any suggestions on what to do.

How old is she? Has she laid eggs recently? She has the posture of a hen with internal laying, salpingitis, and egg yolk peritonitis. I would not be surprised if she didn’t have some masses of egg material (lash eggs) inside her belly. There is no treatment other than supportive. Antibiotics this late probably would not be effective. If she will take some feed mixed with water that will get more fluids into her. Do you have any pictures of her typical poop? Is her crop emptying overnight by early morning? Is her lower belly under her tail enlarged?

She is about 4 yrs old and im not sore if she has laid eggs recently because I have a lot of chickens that lay eggs. I don’t have pics of her poop right now, but will take some later. Crop is empty in the morning, but full at night. Her lower belly is a bit puffy.

That bright yellow looks like yellow urates which is a sign that she may have water belly and egg yolk peritonitis. She may go downhill, so I would try to keep her comfortable, and consider putting her down if she seems to be suffering. I would watch to see that she is not bullied since the others may sense that she is sick and peck her. When poop gets on her vent, it can lead to fly strike and maggots, so keeping her clean during fly season is important.
