At 3 weeks old, One out of nine (home hatched)silkie chicks started doing this weird thing with its head, shaking its head and neck, twisting around upside down and sideways. For the past four weeks I have been treating it for wry neck.. zero sign of improvement. I’ve done selenium with e, e capsules, rooster booster poultry cell, b complex, etc. Non medicated feed. It can hold its head up straight and walk straight but makes a mess shaking its head violently while eating. It reminds me of someone with Parkinson’s the way it can’t hold still even while sleeping. Every few minutes he will put his head down and run backwards. Most of the waking hours is pacing in circles while moving its head and neck all over as if looking at everything in every direction. It’s been separated from the flock for 4 weeks and the rest are much bigger and thriving .

I have a chocolate silkie hen like that. I got her from a breeder at two days old and she was doing that head shaking bad. I thought ear infection but how does a two-day-old chick have an ear infection? I did the standard treatment same as you. She's now over a year old and been laying eggs, but still twitches her head. I even tried later in life with her by giving her E and scrambled eggs (selenium) for a week and it didn't help.

I do not know what else to do but I do give them Poultry Cell every few days so she doesn't get any worse.

She's fine otherwise, just twitches her head all the time.
