Silkie Chicken Care - Eyes

Need help, video or advice on how to trim the feathers around Bearded Silkies eyes so they can see. Some say don't but some say do and they are just starting to have problems seeing their food and I'm scarring them when they don't see me coming. Please help. Thank you

As soon as it flys off from them shaking their heads the others try to eat it. Afraid they will choak cause I cant watch them 24/7

UPDATE! So I wrapped each one in a towel & stroked their heads till they relaxed. I cut/trimmed (only) from the inside corner of their eyes, forward across beak. I cut until I could look straight forward into their eyes & they could see me. It didn't change their cuteness at all. Then they went crazy cleaning up all the yummy stuff they couldn't see on the floor. YEA! "Happy Chicks, Happy Me"
