I have recently started breeding and have about 20 silkie chicks at the minute, only 1 is silk textured, the others a smooth, The parents are both Silkies. All the chicks have black skin and five toes. Why are my silkies not silk? I don’t understand.

Do you have pictures of their parents? Two silkie feathered birds should not be able to produce satin chicks, so I think something unplanned must have happened.

Yes, I agree with what BlueTheBrahma said. If both parents are silked, there's no way for them to have any smooth-feathered chicks.
Do the parents belong to you or did you buy the chicks/hatching eggs from someone else?
If they're yours, do you have any other roosters? Had the mother of the chicks been in contact with another rooster a few weeks prior to being placed with the Silkie rooster and having her eggs collected for hatching?
