Silkie hen or rooster?

Just got back home from offshore and not even home for an hour I heard crowing. I went outside sure enough he was trying to crow. So Kitty is now Chaz.

If that's the case, definitely not wheaten colored then.

Bare with me I'm new to silkies. So if it's a rooster then it can't be a wheaten color? If so why. I'm curious

Wheaten looks completely different for each gender. Females are cream on their chest with a golden color over their bodies. Males have black chests and bodies, with gold/red through their hackle, saddle and wing feathers.
