Crossing the Road
I agree with Hinotori. Looks like a few of my Satins! (Silkie crosses)Oh really? She was sold to me as a Polish chick, though from a pet produce store so not totally reliable. Here's some full body shots.

The other breed that should have blueish ear lobes is Spitzhauben. I think it's even in the standard for them.
I have been trying to rehome my silkie roosters and I was told that as well. Now I'm trying to put them in an undercover relocation program in my garage. SAVE THE ROOS!!!!What ? Who? Me ?
I've got a bunch of silkie roos that are pet quality you are welcome to SAVE too! or give away, eat, etc.I have been trying to rehome my silkie roosters and I was told that as well. Now I'm trying to put them in an undercover relocation program in my garage. SAVE THE ROOS!!!!

Polish have also been used to strengthen some Spitzhauben lines here in the US.Maybe bad bred polish? Doesn't have leg feathering like a recent silkie cross. Usually the hens have a bit bigger crest. Probably some silkie in there for the blue ears.
Polish were used to get the larger crest in silkies
Glad the little one perked upHad this little one day old monkey hop out of the nesting box, only to land in the next one over while it was still cold out this morning. Mom had her kids out of the nest calling them to eat.. but missed this one. I found it cold and barely moving, so stuffed it in my pouch (sweatshirt) and brought it inside and put it under a warming lamp. (40 watt clear bulb). Then went out to finish feeding and watering the flock. By the time I got back in, it was moving a bit. 30 minutes later it started screaming its head off! I'll wait a few days then introduce it back into it's pile of siblings. White Cloud hatched 6, while Blue Bonnet hatched another 4 of WC's. I can put him with either hen, maybe even it out.View attachment 4006351

And thanks for the feedback on my Polish everyone, I don't mind she has some Silkie in her, as she's not for breeding or showing, just a beloved pet, so it adds to her charm.
