Everyone is 5 weeks old as of tomorrow morning!@AngBantamLuv How old are your babies now? I’m going to look very closely at them but I need their age![]()
I'd actually be happy with even just those 2 being female, im pretty confident the little black polkie is also femaleWith the caveat that five weeks is too young to be certain here are my guesses:
Big Silkie looks like a cockerel, non-vaulted, half bearded.
This is often seen with birds that are the result of a non-bearded and bearded crossed together. Will still have a beard, but just might be a little bit shorter than one that is full bearded.
Little Silkie looks like a pullet, non-vaulted, half bearded.
Tolbunt looks like a pullet so far!
Again way too young to be certain but that’s how they’re looking so far. They are all so cute and I hope I am wrong and they are all girls!![]()
My first two silkies were from ideal. They were non-bearded, but beautiful and sweet otherwise. Head poof wasn't massive, but overall they looked really full of fluff. My profile pic was my partridge as a chick. I had to rehome them, but it killed me because they were so friendly. At their new home, theyd hop in new mom's lap anytime she sat down.Has anyone here gotten silkies from Ideal poultry and are they good quality. I'm looking for a hatchery that has good quality silkies that ships chicks.
I came on here to see if it was good cause some reviews said their feathers weren't good but the have so many varieties and they are in stock. Yours are adorable. My first two silkies were from ideal. I know its not exactly the same, but the new polkie I got had serious wobble, like even when it was standing still, its head would just go in circles. I added poultry nutridrench at a dosage higher than recommended for 4 weeks. The wobble and backwards walking has stopped. Not sure if you have it where you're at, but here is the label info.Again my only cockerel is a few months old and is wobbly! The one hatched in April I had to put down because he was so bad with his head backwards and now Burtle I love can't walk properly! Can't stand. Lays around. I have started a thread with his problem but getting any advice I can if you guys have any please!?
Currently seperate with poultry vitamin water and chick starter feed.
