Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Maybe I'm just seeing streamers because I want to see them. I think he'd make a pretty boy. I'll just have to wait it out

in my experience silkies with long hackles are boys. streamers and combs fooled me a few times but hackles didn't.

I have a house silkie as s/he got pox at an early age and fought hard to survive. it is too cold now so I brought in 2 skinny silkies, 1 pullet and 1 cockerel. they are not sick, just don't have enough fat to cope with cold at night. my coops are open (wire mesh). I might build a new coop for silkies. one of my fayoumi boys regularly flies into a silkie run. luckily I don't hatch at this time of year.

I’m already smitten with this baby!

Hoping she’s a she, but if she is she’s the chattiest little baby Silkie I’ve ever met! So much noise and chatter and cooing. It’s super adorable but has me suspicious The girls I’ve owned are so quiet I’m getting rooster inklings haha. Those familiar with blue cream in silkies…will there be male feather color differences? Or is it more diffuse on both? I will love having one of each but I reallllly didn’t need a Silkie boy!
