Silver spangled spitzhauben x buff Brahma bantam chick

I put my buff Brahma bantam roo over my silver spangled spitzhauben hen and got a black chick. I assumed this would be a sex linked hatch with gold pullets or silver based roos, am I missing something? 100% certain on parents, only roo was the Brahma and the only other hens are Seramas and their eggs are quite different from my spitz hen.

I see that no-one has offered any explanation, and the chick would be over two weeks old by now.

Can you post updated pictures? I'm curious to see what color feathers it is growing.

I know that some chicks do show a fair bit of black or dark gray in their down but then grow up to have other colors in the feathers too, so I wonder if your chick is doing that but with a really large amount of black.
