Can anyone suggest some snake repellent safe around a coop and when they free range during the day. I'm not sure if what they sell online is toxic if consumed while foraging in the yard.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll definitely use the 1/4 cloth around the bottom.Hello and welcome to BYC!
I have never used this stuff but I have heard it can help repel snakes and its safe for pets when used as directed. https://www.ortho.com/en-us/products/garden/ortho-snake-b-gon-snake-repellent-granules
We have rattlesnakes around here, I use 1/4 inch hardware cloth on the run to keep out baby snakes. Most venomous snakes are active during the hottest of days so birds usually stay inside with fans running.
Good luck and welcome aboard!
I attached the 3 ft , 1/4 inch cloth to the 1/2 inch cloth all around the entire run. Venomous or not, nobody needs snakes in the coop. I was getting a bunch of baby garders coming in, freaking me out. Thanks for the advice. I think I'll definitely use the 1/4 cloth around the bottom.
