Hi all, I have been struggling with one of my chickens. She keeps getting doughy sour crop. I have been using monistat twice a day, but that is not working. I have also given her ACV. The most recent thing I’ve done is give her a crop bra. I have dewormed her, thinking maybe it was caused by worms, however it doesn’t seem to be making a difference.

How many days have you given the Monistat?

She's still eating/drinking normally?

What did you give as a dewormer, dosage and timeline.

I'd make sure she's drinking well and eating. Give the Miconazole 2X a day for a full 7 days.
You can also give coconut oil chunks a couple of times a day.

Is she pooping? What's that like?

Often a crop problem is a symptom of an underlying condition. Reproductive disorders, infection, worms, etc. can cause the crop to slow and turn sour.

The first week I gave her monistat once a day, I recently started doing it twice a day. She is eating and drinking normally. Her behavior is normal. She is pooping. She had a couple concerning poops last week, but they gone bad to normal. I gave her Corid for three days by mouth, she won’t drink water with Corid. And then I gave her safeguard goat dewormer once a day for five days.

But her crop is still not emptying?

If not, then give her an epsom salts flush to see if that helps.
