Solved Spam threads

Not sure if i put this under correctly but has anyone noticed spam threads?
Let me give you a example. A gibberish name that just joined BYC like zyxheidhdddskfoek
No followers or anything, then the thread looks something like

Title: Xz34

Post inside: Jsnfi8

Within something like minutes, many are made by different accounts! Has anyone noticed this? My concerns for this are two reasons.

One if it could be dangerous like a bot

Or two, that it covers important real threads with fake spam ones! Like a sick chicken.

Yup! There's been several of them within the last week. Just report them to BYC staff- the amazing mods on here usually get them taken care of

Good to know, thats what i’ve been doing but was wondering what it was about.
Do you know if its a bot or a real person? Just wondering what the point of it is.

report and ignore.
those tend to pop up sporadically on any forum.

Not sure... the other night there were a whole bunch of posts in mandarin advertising some colleges. So I'd guess a bot

The anti-spam systems used here at BYC are constantly being tweaked to prevent spam from getting through. But even with automated steps in place, things can slip through the cracks. Spammers are very creative, and they are relentless!

In addition to the automated spam blocks, the staff manually reviews for possible spam daily.

This latest go-round of spam is being reviewed by staff, and we appreciate your patience as we clean up the mess.
