Hello all,

So I have previously made a thread concerning my goose who won’t eat. It’s been a month now. I’ve taken her to a vet and they prescribed antibiotics: tmz… something like that. Well, they didn’t work. It’s been a few days since the other antibiotic and my goose has gotten worse. Today was the first day she couldn’t stand. I gave her fresh water in her pool to
Swim. She could stand in the water.

Then I see this spot right above her tail, it looked yellow. I looked closer and touched the tiny feathers and just pinched and they came right out. There are two swollen bumps that replicate a pig nose lookin thing, also has the orangey stuff coming out like ear wax… never seen anything like it. Probably size of your pinky nail.

Anyone know what it could be?

Preen gland.

My guess is she can’t stand because she’s starving to death. She’s severely nutrient deficient.

Of you can’t get her to eat you’ll have to tube feed her. You’ll need a 60 ml syringe, a catheter tube, and a 30% gamebird start.

Something like these https://www.amazon.com/Pieces-Rubbe...-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Syringe-Liqu...41458012&sprefix=60+ml+syringe,aps,278&sr=8-4

Also some liquid B vitamin complex, and either rooster booster poultry cell or poultry nutri-drench.

Add some feed and boiling water together to make a smoothie like consistency, you may need to make adjustments as the feed expands or it will get gummy.

When it’s cool enough to stick your finger in without burning but still warm add some vitamins, then fill the whole syringe with the mix.

With one hand apply pressure to the corners of her mouth until she opens, insert the tube down HER right side of the throat, you might feel the lump sliding down her throat, when it’s near the base of her neck hit the plunger, then pull the tube out.

The faster you do this the easier it is and less stressful it is on her
