We do new hampshires!! We tried cornish, but we prefer dark meat and they have more of it.

Are you breeding them to sell them to other people alive or as meat?

We do both! More meat lately though. Our new hampshires are having a tough time during the molt, and we had to put down their previous rooster due to health issues, so we are waiting until February to begin again, hence why we have so little right now.

Would love to breed birds myself, but probably for show stock or maintaining a heritage breed situation.

Yes! Only nine right now, and they're back home. I'm off at college right now. I miss them dearly. Two Brahmas, one Olive Egger (who doesn't even lay green eggs... the jerk), one barnyard mix, and the rest are all the Silkie x EE crosses from MPC :]

Awesome!! I adore any silkie crosses. I breed those as well.

And hey, when I joined BYC I was just hanging around cause I couldn't have my own birds yet!

Oh really? Fun! that probably makes more sense so you know more before you get them. I dont remember why i got byc. I remember we had just upped our bird count from 9 to 80 plus turkeys, so i believe i was having issues with them.
