Spilled chicken feed in grass with white stuff

my daughter spilled the feed on the way back down to the house in the grass. It rained and I noticed today it’s growing all this white furry mold I’m assuming.

What can I do to get rid of this ?
Wash it away with water? Won’t that just spread it around?

Idk what to do about it. It’s a pretty decent pile

If you use enough water to wash it away it'll spread enough that it'll probably break down before the chickens think its food. If it's not in a pile, they wont be as interested.

I would probably get a dustpan and brush and get as much of it up as I can then wash away whatever is left.

What feed is it that it gets moldy overnight? Do you think it happened because it is warm where you are? The one I use doesn't get moldy for days and days.

When that has happened to me, I have taken a garden rake or a hoe, and scratched up the soil, burying it.

Yeah, maybe it is just too cold here to grow mold, if it is a common occurrence for other folks.

So, I’ll admit, with 4 little ones, and being in a rush that day and busy after. It had been sitting for maybe about a week I just noticed the mold growth yesterday.

It was closer to the house where she spilled away from the chicken run. Decent warm weather with some rain and then cool night temps

Don’t beat yourself up, it’s ok. I would scoop it with a dust pan and wash away what’s left , like previously mentioned by @Saveria
