Tried to make my first hobble! Chick had quite splayed legs although not as bad as some of the images I've seen... does this hobble look ok! Or too close together.
Chick is mad and very angrily trying to peck the plaster off... what else can I do?

It might be a little close together. Is the chick walking okay with the hobble? It may be okay. I had one that I placed the legs 1 1/4 inches apart, and left it on for 3 days. Some sources say to change the hobble every day to keep up with growth. I helped the chick stand and walk. Standing in a small wineglass or shot glass or padded cup can give it some strength in it’s legs to help balance. Here is a good picture of a hobble for splayed legs:

Thank you for the picture and response. Yes the chick can walk ok... although it seems so frustrated all the time it more flies head first whoever it wants to go but that's really not safe.
I'm leaving it hobbled today too and we'll see how it is tmw I think
I've left it in with the other chicks and it's quite strong and determined and I see it eating drinking napping and exploring pretty well so it's keeping up ok

After 2 days of hobble chick is pretty much corrected. I've removed the plasters as it did seem to be so distressed by them although they were not tight, I could easily slip small scissors up inside to snip them.

Will keep an eye but so far all looks good 👍
