He was very ealy maybe 8 weeks or so...he started trying to crow, then he got the long sickle feathers in. I have seen where they show looking at the neck feathers and if they are round it is a female and if it is more pointy it is male. This was him at 8 weeks and the other male we had.
I have one SGE, I am getting concerned she may be a roo. It has black coming in on one wing and the back of it's neck. Does anyone know? All I have seen are the hens that look so much like golden comets, or half white and orange. They are a little over 3 weeks old. The other light one is a salmon faverolle and the dark one is a barnelvder. I believe they are both females.

Of the three Starlight Green Eggers we have in our flock, we have one beautiful olive green layer, one pastel teal green layer, and one beautiful peach layer!
That happened to us. We had two light olive eggers and a tan egger. She was super mean, in addition to laying tan eggs, so we rehomed her as a brown egg layer.

I do have them, they are super friendly birds. My roo has been very good at his job and the girls are all pretty affectionate.Jusy started laying actually, so first green egg yesterday. I have a variety of colors and pics from every age as they grew, let me know if there is anything in particular you want to see 😉.

I have a mystery chicken that could be a SGE. She was in the ISA Brown bin at the store, 11(ish) weeks old now.

The thing that threw me off at first was that any source that lists comb type says SGE have pea combs, but looking through the forums here, a lot of them seem to have single combs like my Sybil.

She's likely some type of ISA Red, but maybe I'll be surprised with a green egg in the next couple months!

Here's my thread about her with pics of her growth over the weeks in the breed and gender forum

She looks like she could be a sge. Mine doesn't have a pea comb either and I have green eggs.

She looks a lot like my Willow when she was young she is a SGE. Only issue with SGEs is they don’t always lay green eggs I have one that’s a brown layer 😕
