Staying Clean

Nope. I did find galoshes ?spelling? on Walmarts website a few months back. I got 2 pair for like $15 with shipping. They are AWESOME for mucking out or in this ridiculous amount of rain we have been getting. Our patio floods, which the ducks LOVE, but I did not enjoy walking through 4" of water to take food out etc.

I have a long light weight coat I slip on before doing any real messy jobs with my ducks. It seems to help a lot. Just thick enough to protect even if I get splashed. Now if only my pants and shoes and face could stay clean...

I walk out the front door and seem to get dirty just by doing that - of course, been that way forever, gardening or whatever I do...ducks are no different. Dirt just seems to leap out and get me. The drawback is I do a LOT of laundry these days, since I have to change every time I tend the ducks!

Ha ha! Definitely a dirty job. I have a pair of those heavy neoprene fishing gloves to my elbows when I clean. Just in case I don't want any kind of poo poo sickness. I also syphon my pond and have a few times gotten a mouth full of poo water.....ugh!!! Let me tell you it isn't pleasant and it's all I can do not to throw up. lol Yea, I try not to do that!

I usually get pretty wet with the water, hosing out the pool and drinking water dishes. Old jeans, t-shirt and flip flops would be standard duck cleaning attire!
