Stop me if this is too chicken crazy

In that case I don't think so, winter is thankfully mosquito free
I've only managed to see a few in my lifetime in my area. When I went to Michigan's UP they were EVERYWHERE! Bit my butt thru my jeans... Made a very itchy and painful camping trip because I'm slightly allergic (or just sensitive to their saliva. Bites swell up pretty big on me)

Mosquitoes cause heart worm .You don't want to attract them if you have pets
Something to keep in mind with mosquitoes is while chickens can't get heartworms, mosquitoes do spread fowl pox...

Just a comment: those things are spread by mosquitos biting the animal, not by chickens eating the mosquito.

So you probably do not want to attract more mosquitos that fly around and bite chickens, pets, people, etc.

But if the mosquitos are present anyway, trapping the mosquitos and letting chickens eat them would be a way to reduce the risk. A dead mosquito does not bite.

That's what I said . . . I was tempted to ask what snow was, but we had some on the ground for 5 whole days and we all thought it was a
snowpocolypse and we'd never see the sun again. Northerners are nuts to deal w that regularly.
We normally don't get snow and I was in heaven when we got some in January. I love the cold, snow and ice. The girls took a few days to figure out the snow is harmless but afterwards they didn't mind it at all. Like bird like owner IG lol
