Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

Raining, should set the seeds nicely. As soon as we get a break in the downpour, I have some planters to fill.

Container tomatoes, parsley, basil, chives, lavender, cilantro, marigolds, nasturtium. Peppers in the raised garden, plus "real" tomatos (roma, plum). Also need to plant more asparagus to replace/suppliment what seemingly didn't overwinter (cold wasn't the problem, more likely my soils are too dense - also, asparagus prefers more neutral acidity. I have pelletized lime to amend in this time).

[Edit: Everything but the Asparagus is planted. Raining again. Just passed 1" in the last 24 hours]

We're in a bit of a drought here. Grand Rapids, 35 miles to the west, has had FEET more snow than we got this winter. We've had maaaaybe 24" over the winter...? No rain in the 8 day forecast, and the one inch we were supposed to get last week was probably about half that.

I really hope this is not a sign of things to come. Or not to come.

That is a dreadful sadness
