how many chicks do you have now ?

I have 4 chicks now. I bought 3 week old Lavender Orpington chicks because only one of my hatching eggs developed at all. That's why I'm so over the moon about her! She's my little miracle baby. I lost 4 chickens this year, so this is the right amount to add. Math success!

Not sure if it’s the same for your little guys as it is for coturnix, but I had a similar situation happen to me where a late hatcher wanted out of the incubator and into the brooder in the worst way. He was very happy being moved as soon as he was dry, which was less than 24 hours.

I know what you mean. I moved her at about 20 hours. She was so happy!

Now this is funny!!! This little guy was just to tired. Flopped down, stretched out his legs and went to sleep. Scared me at first cause OMG he looks dead.
