I have a buff Orpington and an “olive egger”. They were hatched June 19th so they will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. We went away on vacation for a week and just came back. Before we left, the ladies were both the same size as each other. We come back a week later and the olive egger looks crazily large now. Almost like she was pumped full of steroids! She looks like she doubled in size. Is this normal?? I’m so freaked out by how large she got all of the sudden!!!
Also, I wanted to transition them to be outside with my 3 other hens. Not sure how to do that slowly since the cage we keep them inside in won’t transport easily to outside each day due to the size. Would it be dangerous if I just put them all together? My other 3 hens are very tame and sweet. They have never picked on each other but I understand this transition could be shocking to all.
