So I saw these Super Giant white quail on eBay..does anyone know anything about them? It says they get to 20oz. Has anyone messed with these? Are they too heavy to live long?

Well, the user's profile looks suspicious to me. The writing with the random colour changes, fonts, and capitalization also looks really unprofessional. If they actually have 20 oz quail, I would think they would be referring to their lines. None of the reputable breeders that I know of have quail that size. If this breeder does have quail that size, they're purely for meat and intended to be butchered at 8-10 weeks, because after that they probably have problems walking due to leg issues.

That seller is scamming people. I have Butler Bobwhites that are that size and bigger (27 oz.) but English Whites do not obtain that size. I've raised them also, AKA Texas A&M Bob whites. They only got to around 14 Oz. occasionally one would be 16 Oz.

Even the biggest one in that video was only 18.45 oz. That's still 1.5 oz from the claimed 20 oz. That said, I hope that seller isn't a scammer because I'm thinking about getting some of the Bresse eggs that he has listed.

Nice to know, but it looks like they're transitioning ownership and not currently taking orders. Hopefully the new owners will continue to have good eggs.
