Aww, im so sorry about your ducks. I hope they get better. It never rains but it pours!! My poor boys have developed niacin deficiency -- suddenly this week. Pingywingy, my special needs pekin, is the worst. He starte to limp yesterday and today can hardly walk -- he is using his wings when he has to walk. Two of my three muscovy started limping today. They all have good feet, no hot or swollen joints. I bought a new sack of duck pellets last Tuesday and they started it on Wednesday. I believe that for some reason it doesn't have the normal amount of niacin in it. So, I am really worried about my boys, particularly Pingywingy. He started human Vit B complex sublingual liquid today and the others will get it from tomorrow morning until my Durvet arrives on Thursday from Amazon. I already ordered Rooster Booster Poultry Cell -- it arrived today -- as I had thought my third muscovy, as yet not limping, was "under the weather". So I made up a gallon of drinking water with an ounce of Rooster Booster Poultry Cell. They all have that in their water tubs tonight and they all got another dose on their meal worms.
On top of worrying about my boys, I got a call from my friend the wildlife rehabber, as someone dumped about 40 young quail in Jacksonville. A bunch died from the heat and dehydration before they were found, and a few ran away before they could be caught. But 20 were rescued, rehydrated and eye infections treated, Now I need to find forever adoptive homes for them. Anyone in NE Florida/SE Georgia fancy raising some cute quail? They aren't afraid and will jump up into your hand if you hand feed them. Contact me if your do!

So for winter you supplement more?Sorry things all went wrong all at once
Adding nutritional yeast on the feed 1tbs to 1cup feed on top of the over stuff your doing will help
I have bigger ducks and keep mine on it
I don’t do as much as when they are small but in summer it’s a few times a week 4 -5 and winter it’s daily abc a bit more
I wish the feed would have more in it as it won’t hurt the smaller breeds that don’t need it but would benefit the larger ones
Hopefully you find homes for the quail. So sad when birds are just dumped like that
I have been very fortunate as I have two big Rouen Hens and my huge Mule Duck along with my two Muscovy Hens, one which is bigger than the other. So far they have only gotten Puriana Flock Raiser and Laying Feed and never had any problems with any of them. The Rouen Hens are now 6 and I have had them for the past 3 years when they were rescued from my Boss at the time whose wife got tired of them. Mine won't touch peas for some crazy reason. I have tried different times but they just turn their noses up at them. I pray that yours get better soon.So for winter you supplement more?
Ive been adding Nutritional yeast once a week now. But ive also been giving them about 1/2 cup of peas a week to. I dont wanna give them to many.
As my flock are all drakes and free range forage every day, purina duck pellets have always been adequate for them until now. My son has a laying flock of pekins and feeds them organic layer feed which he supplements with Brewers yeast (that they love, year round. His females get pale bills and one lays fragile eggs towards the end of the year, and so I added nutridrench to their water, and they always have crushed oyster shell on the side. My son insists his ducks don't like the water with nutridrench in it, and so I am going to swap the Nutridrench with Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, although I don't know why he thinks they don't like NutridrenchI have been very fortunate as I have two big Rouen Hens and my huge Mule Duck along with my two Muscovy Hens, one which is bigger than the other.
