3 days ago I found Levi sitting in the snow. I was worried it was bird flu, so I isolated her from the rest of the flock, but now it’s been too long for that.
Given that the wing on her left side is limp and her left foot is curled (I thought it might help if I stuck the little towel she’s on in her curled foot to help it stretch, is that okay?) my best guess is she had some sort of minor stroke. She does seem to be drinking, but she’s not eating or pooping. Her comb is dark compared to its normal colors, but I think that’s just because she spent an unknown amount of time lying in the snow.
She’s 5ish years old. Her laying has slowed down pretty massively this year (she’s the only Easter egger in my flock so she’s easy to track) and over the summer she even had a period where she started trying to crow.
I gave her water, yogurt, honey, chick food, and some cooked artichokes I had in the fridge. (Seemed like a good source of vitamins and soft enough for a sick chicken, is it a good option?)
