One of the Swamp People, Mitchell Guist died. He was one of my favorite people on that show! I will miss him! I wonder how he will do without his brother!

I was thinking the same thing...I wonder how the brother that is left will do on his own, they seemed inseperable.

I really like that show and the 2 brothers were my favorites. The episode where they were getting logs from the river to repair the porch their daddy built was one of my favorites. It was so sad to hear yesterday that Mitchell passed away. I hope his brother will eventually be ok without him.
 
I was not personnal friends with Mitchell or Glen, but I knew the Guice family, had one of them repair and outboard motor for me years ago.

First thing I need to tell you guys, the house is not out in the middle of the swamp. It's only 100' off a major hwy in Ascension Parish. It is the original Guist home.

They're were two families Guice and Guist, not sure of the spellings, but all the kids were mixed up one way or the other, no one really sure which family they belonged.

And yes I have seen them out on the water, doing exactly what they did on the show.

I think they are probably the most frugal brothers I know and living off the land. Not sure if they worked or how they make their living but I am sure their house is certainly paid off and they are maintaining their family house for decades.

Has any of them married? Kids?

We know so little about them but yet, we love them!
