Swelling behind ophelia's eye

Hi, would anyone have suggestions as to the swelling behind her eye? Yesterday it was fine. Only one eye. No respiratory symptoms, eating and drinking good. Going into fall molt soon. She did lay a torpedo shaped egg yesterday too. She is 2.5 years old.

no bubbles or respiratory so far. i did try to gently squeeze it and it was semi firm

she was on baytril a month ago for a cough. she recovered. my other girl had bubbles in her eye was on olfoxacin opthalmic solution and baytril and recovered. sent blood serum to ucdavis and everything ( respiratory panel) came back negative which was odd I thought.

Let us know if it or her symptoms change. If it grows take more pictures. Since you have seen bubbles in another’s eye, I would be a little suspicious of a respiratory disease. It may be hard to culture, but if you ever lose one, your state vet at UCDavis will do a necropsy which is more thorough.

Do you think I should give her baytril? Is it most likely a infection?

I’m not sure that it is anything but a growth. If she develops bubbles or foam, or gunk in the eye, then I prefer Tylosin powder in the water for 5 days. Get that from Jedds.com online.
