Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me out. Yesterday I found my hen to have a swollen ear lobe. I gave her some VetRx several times yesterday. This morning I see that ear lobe and wattles are still swollen. When I hold her and put the meds on her, they decrease & she pinks up, but when left alone, they get discolored and swollen.
Any suggestions and/or advice?
Thanks

Where are you located? What have the low temperatures been at night? Could frostbite of her wattles be a possibility? Other possible reasons for wattles to be swollen and grey are tick bites or fowl cholera. Swelling of the earlobe could be related to those, or a sign of a respiratory disease or ear infection.

Hi, located in Moravian Falls, NC. It hasn't been too cold, we've had colder nights. I was thinking respiratory too. I just don't know why they pink up and then turn gray again. Any suggestions you can recommend?
