Hi all,
Any advice here? Her wattles are swollen, hot to touch. This has popped up overnight. I've looked at fowl cholera, but her symptoms don't match. She is acting totally herself, I only noticed as I give my chickens head rubs when they're in the nesting boxes.
Would it be worth giving her some antibiotics?
Thanks in advance

What is your location? That can help us in determining what would cause the wattles to swell. Most common are frostbite, a tick bite or bee sting, or trauma. Infections from other more serious infections could be possible.

Sorry for the delay, she did not want to be caught again after letting them out for the morning. Had to wait for them to go back into the coop for a snack. But I have checked her over more thoroughly - her ears are swollen, her throat also seems swollen. The back half of her comb is also swollen, though I don't believe it was this morning. I found a small wound, that I'll circle & put first in the photos. The 2nd photo kind of shows the lump in her throat, as well. She is still acting normal, I have isolated her from the flock though

I'd check inside the beak to make sure there's no canker or lesions.

It does look like there may be a small wound, sting or bite that you've circle. She may be having an allergic reaction. You can give her a 1 time dose of Benadryl to see if that helps. Dosing is 4mg per pound of weight.

Thank you! Her mouth is clear - i probably should have put that in, but i did check inside her beak & there's nothing visible at the least.
I will definitely give benadryl & see how she goes. Thank you so much.
