Hi, I am a 6 year returning member, after being chicken-free for two years. The current food insecurity issues have prompted me to re-start my flock. I am in Tampa, on a heavily treed lot, where the weather and shade makes raising chickens pretty easy. We do have raccoon and possum predators, and hawks, which I am hoping will not be an issue with my new, fancy, sturdy coop, and leaving an exterior light on. I learned a lot about how effortless it can be to raise chickens, and I plan to take advantage of automatic feeders, waterers, and an automatic coop door, to make it even easier.
I have 3 new ducklings, and am planning on about 12 chickens, as I plan to share my eggs with my newly married daughter and her hard-working husband. I work from home on my computer.
