In that case, yes, YES to the Cayugas. Why not? If they don't turn out great quality it sounds like you can sell then for a profit, offsetting the feed costs for the other birds?
And if they do turn out to have good traits, duck eggs are very easy incubate. It does seem like a fun and maybe profitable venture.

When I was younger I’d always look on some hatcheries in the US. Such a large range of breeds, that are so cheap. They’re aren’t any hatcheries in Australia that focus on ducks, they’re aren’t even many chook ones. Also, you can’t buy eggs from EBay here soooo... There is a person I know who has (or used to have) Cayugas. He got them from Victoria I think. But I’m not sure if he’s selling any.
 
So yesterday I got four Cayuga ducklings!
They were $15 each.

I’ll have to check that they’re all alive and well this morning. The brooder temperature was around 25C the last time I checked them, and they were under the heat lamp.
