That’s amazing your boss’s dog made it! It’s worse on smaller dogs.
You could get snake avoidance training for certain snakes, I’m sure it does help. So you could try that. It’s not pricey at all from what I’ve seen so far. I am probably going to take our dog for it sometime so we’ll see how it goes!
It really is amazing, they never took her to the vet, his wife fixed her up with some homeopathic something or other, her face swelled up something awful, but you would never know she'd even been bitten today. Rocky isn't going to avoid anything🤣 he dives head first into anything he thinks will hurt his family.

My cat got bit by a snake, he nearly didn’t make it. Cats surviving snake bites is very rare. I’ve seen several snake bitten cats from working at a vet and none of them made it, whereas (if I remember right) every dog did.

But your kitty pulled through? I've heard dogs can build immunities after a snake bite. Didn't know it hit cats harder. Poor thing looks miserable!

Yep! Still around to annoy me every day. I think it also has to do with the fact that cats are usually found later. People keep a closer eye on their dogs and dogs usually go to their owners when something is wrong. Outside cats, on the other hand, usually go hide when something like that happens, which causes them to loose valuable time in getting treatment. It is really surprising that my cat made it, because I found him huddled in the garage 2 days after he went missing.

That makes sense. My dog got stung by a wasp recently and literally ran into my arms and cried. He refused to leave my lap all night and needed comfort. For the record, not a lap dog (aussie). I'm not a cat person but I've noticed chickens will also hide when they're hurt or ill. Makes it so much easier to know when something is wrong with a dog.

That’s cute, sad, and funny🤣 Yeah, unfortunately cats don’t really help us help them😂 I’m sure there are plenty of cats that aren’t like that though.
