Texas

Hope all are doing well.

I'm still fighting my battle with my flock to get them to go to bed at night, but I've been losing. This colder weather has encouraged 2-3 to go in at night, but not all.
I managed to get a mostly functional solar powered light on an automatic timer working, but I haven't quite calculated how long it can run without draining my battery, but I've repositioned my solar panel and adjusted the time way down from about an hour to 20 minutes. Hopefully I can figure out the sweet spot soon.

The nice thing about daylight-triggered automatic doors is that they automatically adjust to sunrise/sunset. Unfortunately, if my timer doesn't support that, I have to constantly adjust the two to try and stay in sync.
Considering a switch away from sunset detection to a regular time on my door, but haven't quite made the switch. Not sure if that's a good "last resort" or a pointless change if the girls won't go to bed on their own anyway. 🤣
