Meat birds, or just new additions?

By the time i got my order together, meat birds were April delivery. These are new layers for me & a friend. Unfortunately, some of these hens are looking rather cockerel-ish. The combs are rather pinkish compared to their sisters.

Damn sure don't want to be processing meat birds in the summer here, lol.

Done it before. Start early & hand pluck 7 was my limit. I’m not feeling that dedicated anymore.
May see the last date for broilers & do a fall batch. Or keep a barred rock rooster & hatch some backyard surprises.

It appears snake season is upon us here in Texas... went out to collect eggs and noticed that one of my fake wooden eggs was missing. Immediately looked in rafters and, sure enough, a 4 ft rat snake. I underestimated their climbing ability and thought I had my coop predator proof. I fixed the issue but dang... it got 2 real eggs and a fake egg. Thankfully it didn't get into the grow-out pen I have my 6 week old chicks in.

I am looking for call duck hatching eggs, if anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated!
