The birb king's chickens

Pics
Well these last few days have been rough. Lost 2 serama hens a few days ago to a weasel. After it got the first one we thought we patched up every spot in the coop it could've gotten in, but it cane back the next night and got another one. 2 of my really good serama hens gone. We made sure to fill every inch so nothing could possibly get in anymore, and just in case I moved the seramas into the barn for now to keep them safe. Set some traps to hopefully catch it but no luck yet. The weird thing is it looks like it actually got caught in one of the snap traps, but escaped somehow. I have different kinds of traps set out there next to its burrow so hopefully we catch it soon. It messed with my chickens so now it needs to die

That's a bummer, man. I'm sorry. I lost 2 of my best OEGB hens last week too, it sucks.
Hopefully you can get some new, better hens.

That's my motto.

Yea I'm definitely gonna be hatching more next year. I would like to move the seramas back outside but I'm just worried it might somehow get back in and kill more. I can't afford to lose anymore

Are you going to take a break off of them for 2025?

What kind of pen do you keep them in? What did you do to secure it?
Again, x2 on that. These birds are my investments.

Since it is winter right now they are in the main coop with the large fowl. It is kind of an old coop so we've had to repair it a little but it is still pretty strong. There is chicken wire with stronger mesh on the outside and netting on top. I would like to switch the top to medal eventually to prevent mud and stuff. It has been attacking at night when they are shut in the coop. The floor was slightly rotten in one spot which is where is was probably getting in so we replaced it, and the nest boxes didn't fully close to the coop so we screwed them shut for now. After that I was sure It couldn't get in but it did the next night. Then we spend hours patching up every inch it could possibly get in, even the gaps on the roof. I'm fairly positive it can't get in now but I just want to trap it to be sure.

Oh and during the rest of the year they get their own coop. It's a double dog kennel with chicken wire on the outside, and a tarp over the rood. They also have a small wooden coop that we build a few years ago now. Haven't had issues with things getting in there
