The BYC Duck Committee!

Pato would like to apply as an educator. She’s very social, and nurturing. She’d like to teach other ducks how to swim, preen, and waddle correctly. Extremely bossy and nosy... Her experience: Taught four younger ducks how to quack for attention, swim and fly, then taught a single new male how to get out of a pool.
Can i borrow her?
My drake Donald is too stupid to remember where the Exit-Rock is located in the duck-tub. Only when the water is clean (for just 30 seconds after filling the tub) is he able to get out of the pool with dignity. Without proper training, he just flaps out of the pool (beating up everybody else in there) flies downhill and belly-flops to the ground.

Gilberta would like to be the human duck of the BYC Duck Committee. 100% hand raised indoors from birth and will always be in my room with me and go wherever I go! She would like to teach other ducks in the committee how to work out their issues with their humans others friends as demonstrated in the pictures!! 0962CF61-B9C2-4ED6-8851-597AC484189A.jpeg 88B81FDF-8BA9-4AEE-8C80-CE07163B605F.jpeg

Our male was like that, until Pato finally showed him the steps. He follows her up, rarely uses them without her!

How does one manage a house duck? Ducks are so darned messy! How do you deal with the mess and noise indoors? Is that carpet in that picture?

Gilberta is VERY messy and yes, being runner extremely loud. To make it even better, yes those are carpets. She has a really large pen in my room that I keep towels or blankets down on and I have to change those every 2-3 days. Her water bottles (2 of the typical red ones from tractor supply) are in a small bin so she can’t get the water everywhere. When she leaves the pen she usually has a diaper on or a blanket under her designated for her messes! As for the noise issues, just a lot of constantly yelling SHHHHHHH! Sometimes I throw meal worms all over the floor and she gets so loud because she’s so excited! Luckily her sleep schedule is pretty set with mine and she understands that lights off means quiet time. A lot of routine training since day 1! I love her so much though!
