I wouldn't think all would be but some probably will get the crested gene passed down.

What is the rule of thumb ratio of male to female,my friend has 1 to 12 with Muscovys

well one to 12 can be unhealthy since eventually all the babies ( if he keeps them) could be inbred.

For one male it is ideal to have two to three females. but some males do just fine with one female and partner up instead of having a group

for muscovys though ( in my experience ) they do better with about 4 to 3 females in one group for him individually.

Mallard derived it doesnt matter,for muscovys it has to be muscovys for babies that are fertile.

Took the little ones out in the yard today. They were all very happy and the kids and dogs all were very well behaved they have already grown like crazy!
