I think I have missed some notes, because it sure doesn't seem as if I've answered 17 already!

I should put the subject of the note, as well as the post number in the first post. I need a little Excel spreadsheet to keep track of everyone, and the answers in a grid format.

well, Micah is using a lighthouse in a canyon, so I guess it counts.

I lived in North Jersey as a young child, and remember going to the lighthouse at Sandy Hook. Is this the same place?

Note#17 - What is the highest mountain you've ever climbed?

Ummmm..........the Twin Lights at Navesink? It's a lighthouse, not a mountain, so I'm not sure if that counts.....

I think the highest mountain I've climbed is Slide Mountain in NY, this is the highest peak in the Catskills. The mountain with the greatest elevation change is probably Mt. Roberts in Juneau, Alaska. Because the trail head is about 200 ft about sea level, the elevation change for the hike is about 3600 feet. I haven't done either in a very long time, and doubt that I'm in shape enough for either. This past weekend, I climbed Enchanted Rock in Texas, which I think is about 600 feet to the top. It is definitely the highest thing around there, and the views are stunning from the top.

The blog isn't mine, but I thought it was a good description of the hike.

I climbed Mt. Diablo in the Bay Area (Stef you know this one

Happy Passover everyone!!

Hi boo... Hi orp...

I climbed some mountains in Chile' my senior year but I don't know what they were called... I didn't go all the way up and it was a ski resort.... but in spring but still breath taking and beautiful...a lake at the base and snow covered tops... best part.... a big st. bernard that snored like a bear and was bigger than me! I got pics of me laying next to him cuddling.

Suzy, all your places are so familiar to me, it's a wonder we haven't run into each other over the years. Maybe we have and we don't know it.

Mt. Diablo - I go there at least once a year, and when the boys were 'tweens, we used to hike it from Rock City to the summit more times than I can count. Mt. Lassen - also did that one back in the 90s, and Yosemite - I've done the hike/climb from Curry Village to Half Dome three times! That hike is grueling! The highest elevation I've been, though, is 11,000 ft at Dorothy Lake Pass in Yosemite.

I'd love to hike Mt Kilimanjaro someday, though DSO wants to go back to Alaska, somewhere I've never been. Put them both on the bucket list!

momsfolly - sounds like this question is right up your alley! For a very cool hike if you ever get to Northern California, make sure you go to Pinnacles National Monument. It's a Devil's Postpile kind of formation, and the hike is a thrill!
