I agree, Eastern Wild Turkeys are probably some of the prettiest turkeys hands down. And I have a Penciled Fall Fire hen that is just gorgeous. I would love to be able to collect every variety, but I can't so I have to just go with whichever variety I'm most interested in at the time. For now, it's the Painted.

As far as chickens, one breed that my husband and I can agree on is Leghorns. White Leghorns have always been his favorite layers, and I finally convinced him to get some different varieties. We have had several different chicken breeds over the years and he just isn't into the big heavy fluffy breeds like the Marans, Orphingtons, Wyandottes, etc. He likes chickens built like Games, leaner looking with tighter feathering and long streaming tails. Leghorns fit that bill pretty well and they are great layers.

I'm not really into the fluffy breeds either. Except fluffy necks and faces. XD
Pencilled turkeys are gorgeous! I bet with a little breeding effort the color could be elevated!

Penciling always looks best with a copy of red. My favorite penciled variety is the penciled red phoenix.

That they do. That is why my turkey hatching and raising is going to be minimal this year.

The Sportsman is pretty well packed right now, but the spare Genesis in the closet is calling my name. lol I have a solo goose egg in the NR 360 right now I am having to hand turn which is a pain so can't use it. (It is a friend's egg, not mine.) I know I don't need more chickens. But I *need* more chickens.

I'd have to look. Think ATM I only have one crele pullet/hen. I have more silver crele & blue silver crele then crele.

You should totally work on crele this season! I would love to see them. It will be several years before I see any decent Crele Leghorns from my project. Crele Leghorns are hard to find, hence why I am going to try to reinvent the wheel.

Reinventing the wheel is the best way to get new blood out there!
