How did you get into shearing? That must keep you traveling around some.
When we got our sheep, people asked who shore them and it just started from there.

I could stick fairly close to home, but while I can, I like jumping on a crew in the early season (when most commercial shearing takes place) and travel with them for a couple of months.

I've been pretty fortunate to go to and shear in many (beautiful) places I wouldn't have otherwise. I've been on crews in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon and Utah.

You really have been to some beautiful places! What an interesting job to have, thanks for explaining a bit.

That is a unique occupation!
