The Old Folks Home

I got 3 eggs yesterday, only one frozen enough to be cracked by the time I got home, and that was a bumper crop of eggs. I can't wait until spring... and hope that this year everyone doesn't go broody again.

Do you still have that EE hen from me? Have you named her? Is she laying blue or green eggs? If you haven't named her, how about 'Bama'?

Your place looks very nice.

NPR had a segment about Spain repopulating Rural areas with Ancient Native Horses. Apparently there is a big movement from country to City living. Yes, it has been going on for a long time too. I want to go backwards and live in the Country again.

Definitely a goal for retirement.

Yes, I thought I was in the country 25 years ago but subdivisions keep popping up. I think I have some buffer around me. I keep waiting for some one to buy up 2 or 3 of the 5 acre lots around me and subdivide it and then start telling me what I can do on mine.

my interpretation of shoes to fill them is chicken feet - btw - chicken feet when bought to eat in the phils are called addidas :lau

I remember when mother killed and fried chicken. She even skinned and fried the feet. They were nice and crispy with a little meat on them. We kids always got those first.

Last night I went out and got these. English lops.

The little boy.

And the girl.

There's a cute little human right there too. Big bunnies!!

OZ..love the coop and runs! Wow.

I have had three new layers start here this winter. Love the eggs. Sell the extras. Money there goes toward feed for my girls.

I do believe that I've only seen chicken feet to eat when I lived in the south, never ate any.
I did eat some frog leg though..change of subject here...but I didn't even eat those until I came to work at a place here in Utah. Guess where the boss was from that had this real different buffet going on? Georgia! Do they eat frog there a lot I wonder? Have to say, I really liked them.

I do, I do, but she stopped laying for the winter. She's really pretty and now has a new name!

It's been a tough winter all over, so I don't blame my birds for not laying well. Right now we're getting another ice storm, there's about an eighth to quarter inch of ice out there, so far. This is crazy, we need more ice like we need more holes in our head. I hope it warms up enough to turn to regular rain. I'll take more flooding over more ice. Heck, I'll even take a foot of snow. At least that will give me traction on top of the ice.

Mom...make it stop.

Har har.....funny.

(I was getting major stink eye for taking pictures)

This is what 4" in 2 days does. I couldn't get back to the coop at all.
