The Old Folks Home

Today I got the last 2 sides of the run done with hardware cloth, one foot up the side, one foot parallel to the ground. And I got 2 strips of fence wire on the top, but I am waiting for the airline cable to get here that I use to strap it to the kennel panels. I let the polish hens into the run while I worked, they were loving it. I put a tarp over the top to keep hawks from seeing them.

Ramik was working at first, but they got to where they wouldn't touch it. Normally when I get one, or two, the Ramik clears them out fast. Dh bought some rat traps, and put peanut butter on them. They didn't touch them either. Digging, and flooding has done the job, along with getting the tree branches trimmed up.
Dang rats are too smart! The ones I had wised up to the traps after the first 4 got nailed. I even tried putting them in a cardboard box tunnel connected to their underground tunnel figuring they would have to go over the trap baited or not. I think they just stopped using that tunnel. Glad you found a way. Not sure flooding would work for me, a lot of the tunnels just go behind a wall and out the other side or out under the wall to the outside.

You are really making me feel bad, Cap, LOL. Although I have to admit that I THOUGHT about the shape plan for the cattle dog's new pen and worked up the energy to sketch it out.....before I took a nap.. :lau

I didn't wake up until 10, and didn't come downstairs until 11 . Didn't go outside until 2 pm. I did put a few flowers in the ground.

I used just one bite to get rid of them here. I can't buy it in California anymore though
