Send the hail back!

I hope that no damage was done.
Fortunately, the hail was minimal but they say we got over 6 inches starting yesterday evening through last night. The barditches were all full and reaching way out into the fields. Maybe our poor ol' Abilene lake will get some run off. It's only been around 4% full for a year or more.

4% full is incredibly bad.

Only possible positive that I can see... is trying to convince city folks that they should pay big money to roll about in the mud... tell them the bottom of the lake has healing powers... fancy mud bath something....

If you charge a fortune they will all believe you..... :lau

Yea, ain't that the truth. Lake Fort Phantom on the north side of Abilene stays around 70% or better. That's where a lot of the drinking water comes from.

That is hilarious... the lake named "phantom" is NOT a phantom... and actually exists!

Busy day today. Hubby is driving to Charlotte, NC via Pittsburgh tomorrow. He's taking the car so I'm doing all the stuff I need to do to not have a car for a week. Groceries, chiropractor appointment, etc.

Yes, there's the Jeep if I really need to go anywhere. I like the challenge of not having a car and not going anywhere. But by the time he gets back, a trip to the store will sound really exciting! :gig

Originally there was a fort built about ten miles north of Abilene on a branch of the Brazos river around 1850 called Post on the clear fork of the Brazos until one night a nervous sentry shot at what he thought was a ghost of an American Indian. After that the fort was referred to as Fort Phantom Hill. The nearby lake got it's name from the fort. There is still a few chimneys standing from the fort.
